Job description

Salary: £39,895 per annum Contract: Fixed-term - maternity cover Hours: Full time 37.5 hours per week, an opportunity for 0.8fte (30hpw) Location: Bristol / currently home working with travel both UK and Internationally

Soil Association Certification is the UK's largest organic certification body, responsible for certifying over 70% of all organic products sold in the country. We certify organic food and farming, organic textiles and organic beauty products. Since 1973 our team has built up extensive practical experience and provide unrivalled support before, during and after certification.

About the role

We are looking for someone to lead on our organic Beauty & Cosmetics certification schemes. Your primary focus is to develop and grow the market for certified organic products and to grow the number of businesses becoming certified. You'll do this through both marketing, including business to business, PR, and events and through ensuring we provide a first in class certification service supporting our clients at every stage of the journey. You will be active in looking for new opportunities to engage business and highlight the importance of certified organic to our target markets and represent the scheme externally in the UK and as part of the international COSMOS group.

About you

You will have experience in a commercial role within the beauty and cosmetics industry and a keen interest in sustainability. You'll be able to deliver strategic objectives of the role while also keeping an eye on wider industry trends and opportunities. With excellent line management experience, you'll be a brilliant collaborator and effective communicator and will be comfortable to champion the schemes you manage with conviction, as well as motivating and inspiring your team to deliver. You'll be used to setting and achieving growth and income targets and able to plan strategically to develop the scheme as part of the overall certification offer.
