Job description
Are you passionate about key food issues including climate change, food insecurity and waste reduction?
Do you have experience of supporting community organisations and running effective networks?
We are recruiting a Development Officer (initially a fixed-term contract to 31 May 2023). The role includes supporting the city’s community and emergency food projects and coordinating our exciting new National Lottery Climate Action Fund project – Food Use Places – a project working with community hubs to reduce food and packaging waste and increase composting.
The post requires excellent communication, engagement and organisational skills… Not to mention being keen on compost, or at least not averse to the idea of learning to love a worm-filled bin!
The post holder will be committed to the work of the Food Partnership and will be supported with regular supervision and training. This is a great opportunity to make a difference, in a community organisation working to achieve a healthy, sustainable and fair food system.
37.5 hours per week, worked flexibly including occasional evenings and weekends. Starting Salary £26,272 per annum. 25 days annual leave per year. Option for hybrid office/home working.
