​The position: 

We are seeking a creative Video Producer & Editor to shoot and edit content to help us end the abuse of animals raised for food.

This is an exciting time to join the team as we want to increase our output to better harness the power of video, so you’ll be able to contribute your creative ideas for increasing our reach and impact.

This is a permanent, part-time position 20 hours per week across the week (to be agreed).

We will be holding a webinar on Monday 12th September at 7.30pm BST for you to find out more about the role and ask any questions you may have. The webinar will be hosted by Hannah Yates, Head of Communications and Katie Ferneyhough, Organising Manager. If you are interested, please register here. Who you are:

As Video Producer & Editor, you will create videos to inspire action and amplify the impact of our campaigns. You will be a detail-oriented person with strong storytelling skills as demonstrated through an online portfolio. 

Reporting to the Head of Communications, the successful candidate will be passionate about The Humane League’s mission of ending the abuse of animals raised for food. You will work closely with the UK Communications team and with our Video team located in the US to uphold best practices and stay true to our brand.

You have strong organisational and interpersonal skills and are comfortable collaborating with a wide range of stakeholders. You are a creative problem-solver with a focus on innovation and improvement, who wants to bring your passion and talents to a job that creates real change. You’re open to and value feedback. You’ll have the ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team in a fast-paced environment. And, you’ll be able to prioritise and manage multiple tasks efficiently.  

Primary Duties:

  • Create impactful videos within our brand standards, including videos for social, email, and our website. These will include videos aimed at a campaign target, celebrating a campaign win, explanatory and fun reels for Instagram, round ups of protests and actions, fundraising appeals, and more
  • Work with staff members across the UK organisation to understand video needs and manage incoming requests
  • Collaborate with the wider global video team at The Humane League, seeking and providing sound, constructive feedback as necessary
  • Shoot high-quality video at events, such as protests and stunts
  • Collaborate with the comms team in the UK and US - attending and contributing to meetings and brainstorms
  • Handle creative video requests using our internal project management system, Asana, with autonomy - while receiving feedback from project stakeholders and keeping them updated
  • Finalising video edits to meet important deadlines


  • Experience in professional video editing, incorporating text and graphic animation, as well as audio editing
  • Expertise in: Adobe Premiere Pro, Adobe After Effects, Audition (or similar program), Photoshop, Illustrator 
  • Experience in all aspects of post-production including editing, colour grading, encoding, sound design, compression and basic animation 
  • Experience of HD and RAW digital editing workflows and digital formats. General knowledge of Adobe’s Dynamic Link 
  • Ability to source online resources when necessary, such as: stock footage, royalty-free music, etc
  • Practical understanding of graphic design and typography
  • Experience in general sound editing and sound design
  • Experience filming on HD cameras while capturing clean audio from various microphone set ups
  • Advanced animation skills are a plus

In Addition:

  • Attend conferences, events, protests and actions if needed
  • Occasionally participate in meetings including note-taking and facilitation
  • Attend in-person workshops several times a year
  • Perform any other duties assigned by the Head of Communications

Creative: You understand and appreciate artistic direction of photography, film, ads and music videos, lighting and colour styles

Multi-tasking: You are organised and can manage multiple tasks and projects effectively to agreed deadlines, and keep colleagues involved and up-to-date

Attention to detail: You have an eye for detail and a strong understanding of video editing principles

Communication: You know how to tell a compelling story through video and keep viewers hooked

Self-motivation: You can work independently, you’re a forward-thinker, able and willing to take initiative in pursuing goals

Team Player: You’re comfortable working with staff from different teams, appreciating everyone’s contribution
