Job description
The Friends of Finsbury Park (FOFP) is a charity of volunteers whose mission is ‘to promote the conservation, protection and improvement of the physical and natural environment of Finsbury Park, London’. The FOFP (Charity / Limited Company) was founded in the 1990s, is run democratically, and seeks new board members / trustees.
Our activities include campaigning for sustainable funding for public parks, not linked to Major Events, ecology activity like monthly Rewilding and ecology protection, fundraising to improve facilities, successfully raising £50,000 recently to build a new skate park, working with stakeholders, local government and Met teams on safety and advocating for the surrounding communities.
The board is looking for new Trustees who have a passion for public parks and want to see them protected for humans and nature. We are especially looking for individuals with experience in Fundraising, Ecology, Website management and Comms and from our diverse surrounding area. But we’re also keen for folk without those skills, but who care passionately about their local community park.
We divide our work into 7 areas- ecology, safety; stakeholders and community engagement; events monitoring and campaigning; facilities improvement; fundraising; and legal/constitutional.
