Cottington Close Estate Resident Management Organisation is a small estate of 247 homes built in the 1950s. we have a gated community garden and estate beds that run along the buildings. We are currently recruiting a ‘Community Gardener’ to work within our Housing Estate. Along with regular gardening duties the work aims to provide education and direct community engagement and make CCRMO a beautiful place to live. Project work available to the postholder is varied and will include community gardening; food growing; garden maintenance; occasional development and design of new garden projects in collaboration with community stakeholders; horticultural training; volunteer engagement; and supervising corporate volunteering. You will utilise your excellent communication skills in engaging individuals and groups from diverse backgrounds and varied age groups, adapting gardening activities to insure all can participate, including those with English as a second language. The successful candidate will be responsible for establishing and cultivating a wide range of plants, overseeing volunteers within our Community garden and around the wider estate. Between 9am and 2pm you would work primarily alone, between 2pm and 5pm you would lead community and corporate volunteers (via Benefacto) in gardening around the estate and community garden.

About Cottington Community Garden
We are a community garden which started up in February 2010 to grow vegetables, herbs and fruit etc.on our estate in Kennington, South London. Open to the wider community around the estate, we are also looking at making the wider estate a beautiful place for residents.
