Eggcup is a start-up project addressing food poverty, food waste and community collaboration, working through a network of surplus food clubs in the Lancaster City Council district. We are in the process of establishing a surplus food warehouse to redistribute food. We have support from the city council and the county council as well as charitable grant funders.
We need an enthusiastic, committed and capable project manager to take on the responsibility for driving the project forward, under the guidance of the project trustees. The role includes negotiating donations at corporate and retail level as well as working with community volunteers to generate enthusiasm to grow the network of food clubs. The project manager will have significant input to the business plan, including researching innovative practice and policy positions to ensure we achieve financial sustainability as well as meeting our social objectives.
