We’re looking for an experienced HR/ People Manager to help strengthen and support our growing team across a few different sites. You will have the opportunity to work closely with the directors, our current office manager, and department heads from across the business, to help support team members and to ensure staff people valued, motivated and supported in their roles. The role will also require assisting our current office manager in general office admin such as answering enquiries, class bookings for our teaching school, and basic book-keeping such as processing wholesale orders and invoices.
Essentially we’re looking for someone who is great with people, has an interest in developing teams and is happy to get involved with many different areas of the business.
Staff recruitment and induction:
Working with heads of department to write job descriptions, advertise new roles and assist with recruitment.
Managing onboarding and induction with all new staff, sending out contracts and handbooks and ensuring all necessary paperwork completed
Managing all staff training; induction and relevant job related training, e.g food hygiene, fire marshals, first aid, etc
Identifying any additional staff training needs
Assisting heads of department with quarterly and annual reviews, performance management, pay reviews and disciplinaries
Creating ways to measure and ensure that staff feel valued, motivated and engaged at work
Assisting Bakery Director with line management of department heads - providing support and guidance to help resolve and mediate issues when they arise
Attending and coordinating department meetings, writing meeting notes, chairing meetings and following up on action points
Updating Bizimply - our rota, time management and HR software and training staff where necessary to ensure it’s kept up to date
Running monthly payroll, help implementing a new payroll software
Processing holiday requests
Ensuring the company is complying with health and safety requirements and company policies and procedures, including company risk assessments and carrying out training with new staff
Staying on top of changes in HR and employment law / best practice and updating policies and procedures manual when required
Other office tasks:
Customer relations, answering emails and calls and assisting with general enquiries
Assisting with class bookings and cancellations
Assisting with wholesale orders and relationships with wholesale customers and new enquiries
General bookkeeping, paying invoices and bills and customer invoicing via Quickbooks
Assisting with stock and ordering for the business where required
Providing cover when office manager is away
