Job description

Main purpose of job

To ensure the prompt, smooth and efficient administration across WT’s interests which include the Fold CIC and Community Housing Project, the New House Farm estate and farming activities, as a musician and an activist for positive change.

Key Roles and Responsibilities include:


  • Organising, processing, prioritising and filing paper and electronic documents to maximise William’s effectiveness and reduce his computer time. Current and archive
  • Support with diary, job lists, correspondence including emails and development of mailing lists
  • Preparation for and Minutes of meetings
  • Support with lobbying and campaigns for The Fold CIC and Foundation Charity (as it develops)
  • Diary management with The Fold management team for meetings
  • Support within the Fold as required i.e., with priority lists, change management etc
  • Support towards the admin of the community housing development
  • Editing Policies and Procedures, including the Fold Hand Book, researching where appropriate.
  • Ensuring estate H & S and Fire regs are complied with
  • Assistance with personnel issues as required
  • Investigation of potential funding opportunities
  • Assisting the chair in preparing for board and other meetings and annual reports, producing minutes

Estate and farm

  • Supporting with estate and farming admin including Soil Association, Severn Trent and DEFRA
  • Purchasing of estate goods
  • Ensure good communication with the Fold and BGP staff, directors, suppliers and contractors
  • Other duties as may be reasonably or seasonally required

Key result areas

  • Less office admin time for Director
  • The Fold and New House Farm trading prosper
  • Director and others can easily find necessary papers and information for ongoing and past projects
  • Staff and customers experience professional and efficient admin support
  • The Estate Office is tidy and efficiently run

Working hours

These need to have some flexibility and will start between 8 and 16hrs per week ideally in 4-hour sessions

  • Good organisational and time management skills ideally with experience of project planning
  • Ability to research, digest, analyse and present material clearly and concisely
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships
  • Good attention to detail
  • Flexibility and adaptability to juggle a range of different tasks and to work extra hours where required
  • Discretion and an understanding of confidential issues
  • At least two years' relevant experience in a secretarial or administrative role

Skills and Experience _ Desirable

  • A knowledge of and interest in the educational and personal development arenas
