Job description

Fixed term 3 month internship, starting end July/early August.  

Based: Old Street, London 

London Living Wage, (Pro-Rata for length of contract) + free breakfast and lunch.  

Line Manager: Head of Membership 

We are looking for a recent graduate with a passion for sustainability and a keen eye for detail to support the Sustainable Restaurant Association membership team in the delivery of the Food Made Good 2019 Sustainability Rating. You will be interested in the food service sector, understand how restaurants work, and confident in approaching suppliers. You will be interested in digging deeper to uncover the truth in evidence checking, and be able to work independently.  

You will take responsibility for doing three things really well: 

  • Supporting the Community Managers in administering all submitted 2019 sustainability ratings 
  • Supporting the awards entry and shortlisting process for the 2018 Food Made Good Awards, ensuring good data entry. 
  • Coordinating with Head of Membership, Community Managers and Marketing to ensure good internal and external communication around rating completions and awards submissions.

We work with food service businesses of all kinds as members, suppliers and on projects that accelerate the sustainability in the sector.   • Have the right to work in the UK 
  • Understand the food-service sector, and understand the sustainability issues they face 
  • Work closely with the membership team to support the delivery of our 2018 Food Made Good rating 
  • Be comfortable engaging with suppliers to evidence check the audit of restaurants 
  • Have a keen eye for detail, able to proofread reports and identify inconsistencies  
  • Be excited by accuracy, raising questions when things don’t seem right 
  • Be independent, happy to get on with your work and stick to deadlines 
  • Up for helping! The job of our membership team can be varied. You may be asked to support on administration for additional projects or member upkeep.
