On Thursday 8 January 2026, Roots to Work and Sustain, are co-hosting a Food and Farming Futures Networking Hour for Emerging Leaders & Sector Supporters, at Oxford Real Farming Conference (ORFC). The session will start at 6pm and will be held in the Oxford University Catholic Chaplaincy.

Collaborating with Emergent Generation and Soil Association, we have invited a number of people working in the sector to be on hand to dive into various themes and to discuss careers in the sustainable food and farming movement with. From agriculture to food policy, land justice to health, we will have a range of experts representing a breadth of sustainable food organisations to meet - and build new connections with.

Bring your burning questions about career development in the food system, the politics of food and farming, diversity in rural development, and the practice of growing and farming. Come along and find just the right people you need to talk to.

These informal spaces are important to give new entrants and young people the confidence to enter the sector with meaningful connections and knowledge. ORFC is a unique moment of food system actors, growers, changemakers, and learners coming together, united in our passion to build a food and farming system that is safe, prosperous, and sustainable for future generations.

Note: this session is only open to ORFC ticket holders. If you don't have a ticket you can get once from the conference website
