Job description

Alexandra Rose Charity is looking for a passionate, experienced, delivery focused Project Coordinator, to join the growing team behind the Rose Vouchers for Fruit & Veg Project. The Project Coordinator will support, develop and grow our network of projects across the UK. Working directly to the Head of Operations, the post holder will be responsible for helping achieve the charity’s ambitions to grow and scale our work.

The post holder will be responsible for supporting local projects through engagement with our local delivery partners. This will include working closely with children’s centres to support project delivery, identifying opportunities to grow the scheme with existing and new centres, and running training for staff to help them to manage and run the project locally. They will also be responsible for the development and maintenance of local retailer relationships including engaging with Market Management Teams, supporting individual traders and retailers who are members of the scheme, and helping to identify new retail opportunities.  

The Project Coordinator will be a part of our Operations Team made up of the Projects Officer and the Head of Operations. The role will also work closely with the Impact & Evaluation Manager who will be responsible for developing and delivering the charity’s Evaluation Framework and implementing new methodologies for measuring impact. This work will influence the future training needs for local partners and implications for how we monitor and share data on the project.

The post will be primarily based in London where we have the largest number of projects, and the post holder must be willing to travel regularly around London. The individual must also be willing to travel nationally as we have projects across the country – including in Barnsley, Liverpool, and Glasgow – and to Brighton where a number of key staff are based and where the charity’s main office is located.

When not travelling, the post will be home based.

The post holder must be comfortable working in collaboration with many partners and stakeholders and have good communication and relationship management skills. A structured approach to work and attention to detail will be essential to help support the growth of the charity over the coming years.

Job responsibilities 

  • Project coordination – support the delivery of the Rose Vouchers for Fruit & Veg Project in its various locations
  • Coordinate local partnership relationships and secure continued buy in from key stakeholders
  • Attend local steering group meetings
  • Coordinate and deliver training for local project partners on how to deliver, monitor and manage the project locally
  • Work with the Impact & Evaluation Manager to imbed processes and procedures for data management and evaluation of project impact
  • Coordinate relationships with local retailers and markets
  • Deliver project training and support including the development of project toolkits for children’s centres and “train the trainer” sessions
  • Support local project teams to effectively deliver on targets
  • Support the development of a network of projects with the aim of better sharing and learning between project areas
  • Coordinate the growth of family numbers and vouchers in each area to ensure that budgets are not exceeded but targets for family numbers are met
  • Further responsibilities relevant to & commensurate with the role of Project Coordinator
