Job description

The Jolly Allotment community was founded in 2018 We spread the word about the importance of gut health to your overall wellbeing. The Jolly Trolly is a 100% Gluten free, regenerative and organic food truck and Wellbeing events company, focusing on gut nourishment and wellness. We cook over fire and serve beautiful rainbow bowls of nourishing food and veggie juices to help make our guests jolly from the inside out and host wellbeing days based on soil to soul education and healing. We are 85% plant based we believe in the blue zone diet and way of life. As these are the healthiest communities in the world eating real food from the ground they live on. Seasonal, local plant based diets. When we eat and serve meat it is with no waste regenerative community ethos.

Due to the growth of the business and our exciting summer calendar of events we are looking for a part time Chef / Events Assistant who can support us on the road though out the UK as well as in Yorkshire in York and the surrounding area.

We have several possition available from 8 to 40 hours a week. Regualr weekly work to the occasional festival.

We are looking for candidates who will be available over weekends when we are onsite at events and some who are also available as prep days during the week at our HQ. You would be involved in all aspects of running the truck and events from food preparation through to the cooking and serving our guests social media content event management.

Do you…

• Have passion for organic produce and plant based cooking?Ffire cooking

• Enjoy working in a small team or on your own?

• Growing your own food?

• gut health and wellbeing?

• Have some catering / kitchen experience (training can be provided if not)?

• Have a full driving license and able to drive a van?

• Available over weekends to attend festivals over multiple days with your own camping equipment?

• Want to be part of a small people and plant concious business with big future plans?

Hours will vary based on our calendar but will be minimum 8 hours a week on “off weeks” + minimum 30 hours during “on weeks”.

Job Types: Flexible, Part-time, Temporary contract. One full time contract available. Contract length: initally 6 months Part-time hours: 8 - 40 per week

Salary: From £9.90 per hour

COVID-19 considerations: Our events are mostly out side in nature. we have hand washing facilities for staff and clients and we take the up most care of our team. Wellbeing is our business so the wellbeing of our team comes first.

Ability to commute

• York, North Yorkshire more regualr work or to travel nation wide to meet us at festivals nation wide. 

Experience: Welcomed but not essential a can do attitude and joyful disposition and desire to be kind to people and planet more important !
