Job description
UKHarvest is looking for a hard-working, multi-talented person with experience across a number of sectors, including: programme and/or project management, business management, fundraising, financial management, people and change, events management, communications, media, and not-for-profit organisations. Leading our team to work in a cross-disciplinary capacity, managing the education and events programme management, business development, fundraising with experience of managing diverse teams. This is a full-time role. The successful candidate will be a pro-active self-starter who will oversee and implement UKHarvest’s programme management transformation, bringing an in house system management system to life, expanding the system of delivery for our education programmes and embedding robust management systems throughout the organisation, sourcing funding, and sponsors; as well as coordinating large-scale public fundraising events, and supporting the CEO and fundraising team in developing new business relationships with potential partners, sponsors, funders, recipient charities and ambassadors. You will also act in the capacity of marketing and communications director, guiding the content strategy for the website and online channels, sourcing editorial coverage to raise the brand’s profile. You will report directly to the CEO and be required to fulfil monthly KPIs agreed upon by the CEO and executive board.
Background
Organisation description: UKHarvest is a for-impact, perishable food-rescue operation that collects quality excess food from commercial outlets and delivers it, direct and free-of-charge, to charities that support vulnerable people. This year, we have expanded our education function and community hubs and now have a need to embed a programme management system to enhance our efficiency. The education programmes and community hubs are designed to overcome the current cost of living crisis, social barriers and end household food waste, by connecting people through food and the shared experiences of cooking and eating. We will support our programmes and services by expanding our food rescue programmes, delivered by our team of logistics experts and volunteers. We will also continue to focus on our mission to create democratic social spaces where people can regain their independence and confidence through the medium of food.
