THE ORGANISATION Cook for Good is a social business with a clear mission: to bring businesses and communities together through food, for the benefit of both. We’ve created a model for tackling food poverty and social isolation, which we’re putting into practice on a social housing estate in Kings Cross. We’ve built a community kitchen on the estate, where we’re running a programme of cooking classes, cooking demos and community meals, and we host a weekly soup café. We also run a surplus food pantry, a community shop with dignity and choice, where members can pick up a basket of shopping for just £3.50 each week. Much of this work is funded by corporate teams, who come into our kitchen to take part in cooking-based teambuilding events. The feedback we get from these events are a clear indication of how enjoyable and useful they are; as one client recently told us: “We had a brilliant time – such fun and some new (and unusual) friendships were forged in the heat of the kitchen. It really was a case of the sum of the parts being greater than the whole: good food, good company, good music, good times and doing good – but not just a good team challenge – the best! And the icing on the cake for us was that our ‘fun morning out’ will have made a real difference to someone else’s evening and made sure that they had a nutritious meal cooked from fresh ingredients to eat.”

THE ROLE To date, most of our sales have been generated organically, driven by our founders’ networks. We’re now looking to take our pipeline to a whole new level by hiring a motivated, energetic, and detail-focused person as our Sales and Marketing Manager, to support the CEO as we grow. You will be our organisation’s sales lead, with a focus on promoting and selling Cook for Good’s teambuilding events to corporate clients, to deliver on both our financial and social impact targets. You’ll also be working with the Communications Manager to develop marketing collateral; promote our events to our growing network and via social media; organise speaking opportunities; and identify other ways to showcase our organisation and the great work we do. The role provides a fantastic opportunity to help develop Cook for Good from start-up to established social business, working alongside a dynamic team who really love what they do.
