Compensation: Real Living Wage or more, by negotiation
Paid Traineeship Part-time
Job description
I'm looking for someone to help me grow my community microbakery into a more profitable business, including whoelsale and events and possibly becoming a CIC.) The role will depend entirely on the experience / skills / interest of whoever might be available - it could be anything ranging from a sixth-former needing full training in how to help prep for a few hours on a Friday before and after college and to bake / serve customers / support me with workshops on a Saturday, to a ready-made Real Bread baker who could teach and energise me while we build up the business together with a view to them carrying it forward when I eventually feel like retiring. There is plenty of room for growth. All expressions of interest welcome.

About Off the Rails
Off the Rails is a community micro-bakery based at Glaisdale Station in the North Yorkshire National Park. We opened during the pandemic, and currently bake Real Bread and pastries just once a week for retail, mostly pre-ordered, and have recently started offering workshops. The vision is to run events that build community, skills, confidence and resilience - with bready accompaniments for that feel-good factor.
