Job description

We are an artisan bakery located in Brixton, South East London, making sourdough loaves and other complementary products to the highest quality and with the best ingredients. We break things, shake things and generally make noise in order to bake as close to perfection as it is possible to get.

Founded in 2010, we are small bakery that is growing rapidly and have big plans for the future; to help us on this mission we have a passionate team of dedicated professionals and a friendly, collaborative working environment that encourages growth and development.

About the role:

The Product Development Manager at Bread Bread will lead product innovation, creating seasonal savouries, cakes, pastries and breads for wholesale production as well as for sale in our busy farmers markets. The role will require the job holder to develop recipes, calculate and present costs for review and find solutions for feasibility of implementation, leading project management from conception to completion, and to train out new products to the team, and ensure recipes are clear and correct.

This is a standalone position and a new role in the quickly expanding Bread Bread team, so we are looking for an experienced professional with bakery experience and a passion for food and recipe development to take full ownership of product development. 

Skills & qualifications:

  • Minimum 2 years' experience in a Product Development role within the bakery industry, preferably artisan baking
  • Ability to analyse data and identify market trends
  • Knowledge and keen interest in every aspect of the product development life cycle
  • In-depth knowledge of the industry
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Basic product budgeting experience
  • Previous experience as a Chef would be advantageous
  • Knowledge and interest in traditional baking styles and recipes

Salary will be pro-rated for part-time hours.

Salary: £40,000.00-£50,000.00 per year
