About our Organisation
The Soil Association, formed in 1946, is the only UK charity which works across the spectrum of human health, the environment and animal welfare. That’s because we cannot tackle these issues in isolation.
We campaign for change, we support farming innovation, we serve healthy food in communities, we support and grow the organic market, and we protect forests. We couldn't do any of this without our supporters, partners, donors and dedicated staff. We make a difference in the world where it’s needed the most.
About the Opportunity

We are working to deliver real, on the ground solutions to the challenges that our food system faces. We are looking for a Senior Farming Programmes Manager who will build Soil Association Scotland’s credibility and influence as the leading voice for organic and sustainable food, farming and land-use in Scotland. You will proactively engage with industry & Government in Scotland at a strategic level and you will lead the development and delivery of key Soil Association farming programmes in Scotland.
You will have experience of working at a senior level within the farming, environmental, or food sector, with good knowledge of practical farming and growing and current agricultural policies and research. You will be an excellent relationship builder and strong communicator, able to present complex issues to a wide range of audiences and engage funders and stakeholders.
We offer a range of financial and lifestyle benefits to all our employees, including:
