Job description

Middlesbrough Environment City (MEC) is an independent charity that promotes healthy and sustainable living using the ten principles of One Planet Living. We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and dynamic officer to coordinate the Middlesbrough Food Partnership and deliver a unique campaign –Good Food Middlesbrough.

The Middlesbrough Food Partnership is a multi-sector partnership that reviews Middlesbrough’s town-wide approach to food and takes a holistic whole system approach to tackle and address the most pressing food related issues in Middlesbrough. Partners works together to actively promote and lobby for healthy, sustainable and affordable food as a driver for positive change. https://www.goodfoodmbro.org.uk/

Good Food Middlesbrough is a part of Sustainable Food Places’ Good Food Movement campaign, and aims to build a local thriving diverse community of food initiatives and enterprises, and help to create multiple opportunities for the wider public to engage more as active food citizens. The aim is that everyone will work together to help transform Middlesbrough’s local food system.

The Food Partnership Coordinator role will be responsible for the delivery of the Middlesbrough Food Action Plan, and the day-to-day delivery of the Good Food Middlesbrough campaign.  This will include partnership coordination and development, managing partnership meetings, project planning and delivery, communication, monitoring of outcomes, and evaluation. It will also support 24 Carrot Gold, Middlesbrough Food Partnership’s bid for SFP Gold.

With a passion for a thriving, supportive and more resilient local food system, you will have the ability to motivate, providing inspiration and leadership to others. You will require excellent communication and organisational skills and a have commitment to sustainable and accessible good food for all.
