Job Overview

We are seeking a self-starting Kitchen Manager with a pared-back flavour-first approach to seasonal food, a real passion for ingredients, and an unwavering commitment to a seasonal menu that shifts daily. As the Kitchen Manager, you will have the unique opportunity to shape our culinary offering by developing and implementing a menu that adapts to the seasons and reflects the needs of our local community at Fulham Road. Your role will encompass menu creation, food preparation, and overseeing kitchen operations, ensuring that every dish reflects the Natoora commitment to excellence and seasonality while truly resonating with the local neighbourhood.

Key Responsibilities

  • Seasonal Menu Development and Innovation
    • Take ownership over crafting a locally inspired and strictly seasonal menu that highlights the best of what Natoora sources and engages local customers through flavour.
    • Collaborate with the Head of Food to design and refresh the menu regularly, offering a dynamic and ever-evolving experience tied to the seasons.
    • Embrace the challenge of creating a menu that showcases the unique qualities of each microseason while staying grounded in the neighbourhood’s needs.
  • Food Preparation and Quality Control
    • Lead the preparation of dishes based on the seasonal menu, ensuring each dish reflects your creative vision and the essence of the current season.
    • Maintain the highest standards of taste, quality, and presentation in all culinary offerings, using only seasonal ingredients.
    • Monitor portion control, minimising waste and upholding food safety practices
  • Team Leadership
    • Supervise and train kitchen staff, fostering a culture of creativity and culinary excellence focused on seasonality.
    • Encourage collaboration and open communication among team members, emphasising the importance of adapting to the ever-changing ingredients.
    • Minimise food and ingredient waste through efficient inventory management while embracing the challenge of seasonality.
  • Safety and Hygiene
    • Ensure strict adherence to food safety and kitchen sanitation regulations, maintaining a clean and organised kitchen environment.
    • Conduct regular kitchen inspections and address safety concerns promptly.
  • Cost Control
    • Assist in controlling food and labour costs, optimising kitchen operations while embracing the dynamic nature of seasonal ingredients.
    • Monitor and manage kitchen expenses within budgetary constraints.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Kitchen Manager or a similar role, with a strong passion for seasonal menu development.
  • Culinary skills and a deep appreciation for high-quality, fresh, seasonal ingredients.
  • Knowledge of food safety and kitchen upkeep practices.
  • Leadership and team management abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in inventory management and cost control.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing customer demands and the challenges and opportunities of seasonality.

If you are a culinary professional with a passion for menu development focused on the seasons, and the creativity to create a unique culinary experience for our community, we invite you to join the Natoora team as a Kitchen Manager with a seasonal menu development focus.
