Job description

Main functions of the job

To provide office support to the farm business, to widen the customer base for the farm and to represent the farm in wider Fold business.

Principle duties and responsibilities

Marketing

  • marketing produce
  • finding new wholesale customers
  • increasing box scheme membership
  • updating social media
  • taking promotional photos
  • updating the website
  • writing monthly newsletters for the farm

Administration

  • answering farm emails and phone calls (on days when in the office)
  • at end of month, processing and emailing out invoices and reconciling cash box*
  • general administrative support for the farm e.g. occasional ordering of consumables

Other

  • representing the farm in Fold meetings and liaising with Fold management (weekly)
  • collaborating with the Farm Manager to write monthly reports for the Management Meetings and quarterly reports for the Directors Meetings
  • very occasional help on the farm at busy times with picking, packing and delivery of orders*

* accounting and horticultural experience not essential

20 hours/week spread over 3 - 5 days (negotiable to suit candidate)

The Farm grows seasonal vegetables, herbs and some fruit in our market garden which is certified organic by the Soil Association. We keep a flock of 40 free-range hens for organic eggs.
