Job description

Boulangerie Pierre Alix is a French artisan bakery, handcrafting organic sourdough bread and premium viennoiseries in small batches in our open kitchen of Muswell Hill. We are a family-run independent business with strong values and high-quality standards.

Our high-spirited baking team works in a bright, cheerful environment with owner and head baker Pierre. No night shifts, outstanding facilities and lots of room to learn and thrive to reach new heights in Boulangerie à la Française.

We are hiring an Artisan Baker with at least 1 year of previous experience in professional baking.

Your mission?

  • Baking, of course! You’ll craft beautiful baguettes, delicious croissants, and crusty loaves following our long-fermentation and sourdough-only processes
  • Keeping the space clean and ready for the next batch of baking
  • Developing our production with new ideas and interactions with customers
  • Managing deliveries and keeping stock and inventory
  • Opening the shop and baking the full counter

You don't need to speak French to work with us, but you’ll need to be happy with our open kitchen way of working.

Plus, you will:

  • Have 1+ years of experience baking professionally (incl. managing a professional baking oven)
  • Be friendly, conversational, and outgoing with our customers
  • Be ready to jump in behind the counter to give a hand when needed
  • Have motivation to work independently in a fast-paced environment

Attention to detail, hygiene, and organisation are mandatory traits for joining our team.

We expect our staff to work (hard) as a team, be supportive of each other and create a joyful work environment.

Shifts start by 4am – 40h/week and 2 days off
