Job Title: Assistant Chef – Food Stall Service

Schedule:  Friday 6pm til midnight, Saturday 11.45am til 6pm, Sunday 12pm til 4

Greens Made Easy (greensmadeeasy.co.uk) is a social enterprise that grows zero waste organic microgreens in a small vertical farm and invests more than half its profits into healthy eating, cooking and veggie growing workshops. Our aim is to provide fresh, affordable, hyper local, nutritious food for all. 

We are excited to have been invited to share our healthy menu with the hugely successful Mercato Metropolitano  at their brand new market in Ilford (Elizabeth Line). Mercato Metropolitano’s manifesto commits them to further the 17 UN SDGs and they already have 4 hugely successful markets in Mayfair, Elephant & Castle, Canary Wharf and Walworth Rd (Elephant Park)

Job Overview:

We are seeking an enthusiastic and skilled Assistant Chef to join our dynamic team and grow our customer base in this exciting new location. You will work closely with the Head Chef to prepare and present high-quality dishes while providing exceptional customer service. This role requires creativity, efficiency, and a passion for delivering memorable culinary experiences in a collaborative environment.

Responsibilities:

  1. Food Preparation: Assist in the preparation of ingredients, cooking, and plating of dishes according to established recipes and standards. We also welcome new ideas for new dishes to add to our menu and want to encourage your creativity.
  2. Quality Control: Ensure that all food items are prepared and presented to the highest quality standards, maintaining consistency and freshness at all times.
  3. Customer Service: Interact with customers in a friendly and professional manner, taking orders, answering questions, and providing recommendations when necessary.
  4. Maintaining Cleanliness: Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in the kitchen and service areas, including proper food handling and storage procedures.
  5. Inventory Management: Assist in monitoring inventory levels and replenishing supplies as needed to ensure smooth operations.
  6. Collaboration: Work collaboratively with the Head Chef and other team members to ensure efficient workflow and timely service.
  7. Adherence to Regulations: Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines to maintain a safe and hygienic working environment.
  8. Flexibility: Be adaptable and willing to perform various tasks as required, including assisting with setup and clean up of the stall.

Requirements:

Culinary Skills: Hygiene level 2 with previous experience in a kitchen environment and with knowledge of basic cooking techniques and food preparation methods is preferred.
