Job description
Smile For Life are looking to recruit new volunteers for our cafés (Café Beam) in Ouseburn and Gosforth. Our cafés are ran by young people with learning/phyical disabilities and our incredible volunteers who provide hands on support and encouragement to the young people carrying out their work placements. We are looking for enthusiastic individuals, with a passion for improving opportunities and experiences for young people with disabilities.
The role includes assisting our young people with activities within the cafè, such as customer service, money handling and preparing drinks. It is important our mentors are friendly, approachable and patient. As a Volunteer Mentor, you will be required to undergo our training and induction programme, alongside a full Disclosure & Barring Check, all provided by the organisation.

About Smile For Life
Smile For Life works to empower children and young people with disabilities. We provide essential work experience placements at our Cafés in Gosforth and Ouseburn, a beautiful café/bistro ran by the young people. This includes serving customers, operating tills, money handling and preparing coffees. We are looking for enthusiastic and supportive volunteers to provide hands on support to our young people on placement, to assist in running the cafe and help develop their confidence.
