Job description

Grow Your Own Playground is looking for a brilliant gardening educator who really wants to inspire children. 

You will initially assist and then run curriculum linked gardening lessons at East London schools in Hackney, Tower Hamlets and Newham. Horticultural knowledge and interest is important, but most essential is someone who is hard working, shows good initiative and understands the importance of providing a practical, hands on learning experience for children to connect them with plants the natural world. 

Grow Your Own Playground has been established in East London since 2010, and now works with 16 schools, and every year gives over 7500 children the opportunity to learn creatively using plants in a huge range of lessons. 

Salary: Starting at £13 per hour (increasing to £15 and upwards when you able to run lessons by yourself).

8 Hours a day- £104 a day (or £120 a day for running lessons).  

Hours: 2 days per week initially (during school terms).
