Job description

Dig-In Bruntsfield is recruiting two new positions for shop supervisors:

  • 20 hours Shop Supervisor permanent position
  • Flexible part-time Cover Supervisor 

About the role

Dig-In is a community-owned business which offers a lively work environment in a local community-focused and ethical business. You would be a keyholder in charge of our small grocery shop and supervise volunteers on your shift. The shop operates Monday - Sunday, so a good level of flexibility to work on most of these days is essential.

Full training will be provided. 

Pay is the Real Living Wage (currently £12.60 hour), and you would get pro-rata paid leave and an employee discount of 20% in the shop. 

Shop Supervisor Role Requirements

Essential Requirements

  • 1 years’ experience in a retail or hospitality setting 
  • Supervisory experience, comfortable with task delegation
  • Passion and interest in local sustainable and ethical food 
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office and/or Google suite
  • Excellent customer service skills 
  • Quick and adaptable 
  • Comfortable with lone working 
  • Excellent food hygiene practises

Desirable Requirements 

  • Knowledge of local produce and local growers and suppliers 
  • Cash handling experience
  • Ordering experience 
  • Experience managing volunteers  
  • Stock management experience 

More about the Flexible 

PT Cover Supervisor

This position would involve covering staff holiday and staff sickness for our small staff team. This is a zero hours position and may suit students, retirees or those who also work freelance. You would not be required to work hours offered and there is also no guarantee of regular hours. This job would be on a 6 month initial contract with the possibility of extension.
