Job description

An exciting opportunity for a Senior Land Advice Officer to develop and deliver our ambitions to support farmers and land managers in their adoption of sustainable land management systems

We are looking for someone who is able to support and deliver land advice and farm liaison and has the inspiration, drive and enthusiasm to lead the establishment of a land advice service through the development of new offers.

Our new Transforming Land Management project aims to further the adoption of wetter farming on lowland agricultural peat and seed a land advice service within the Trust. With agricultural land making up a significant part of our operational area, influencing how this land is managed and supporting land managers and farmers to transition towards sustainable land management systems is a key priority if we are to achieve nature in recovery.

The successful candidate will be an excellent communicator and collaborator, with an authentic awareness and empathy for farmers and the farming community. Possessing both ecological expertise and strong interpersonal skills, they will be able to deliver land advice, collaborate closely with colleagues, identify opportunities and develop these into projects and offers. Fundamentally, they will be passionate and committed to helping farmers and other land managers in the transition to land management systems which support nature’s recovery.

In return we offer 28 days holiday plus bank holidays per annum, increasing with length of service. A friendly and flexible working environment with the chance to be a part of the largest nature conservation body in the area, working together to improve our region for nature as well as engaging and inspiring people to connect and take action for wildlife.
