Job description

The Nest is a non-profit creative agency in service to regenerative farmers, growers and producers. Our creative incubator supports producers to grow their brands, share their stories, and build an effective market presence. We work on a sliding scale basis, prioritising support for diverse and marginalised producers.

Alongside direct work with farmers, The Nest runs cross-cultural campaigns to raise mass awareness about localised agroecology as a key solution to the environmental crisis. We curate exhibitions, host events and create content which forge connections between eaters, the people behind what we consume, and the land our food and fibre comes from.

We’re hiring a Project Manager to join us one day a week to help keep our projects flowing smoothly. This is ideal for someone with strong organisational skills who loves working with creative teams and values flexibility. Reporting to the senior team, you will be supporting relationships between clients and our creative team, ensuring that projects are aligned with work scopes, are of a high quality and have optimum impact.

You’ll be responsible for:

  • Planning and tracking small-to-medium-sized projects (mostly digital and creative)
  • Keeping timelines up to date and helping stakeholders stay on track
  • Acting as the point of contact for internal project questions and queries
  • Managing task assignments, checking in on progress and updating Directors
  • Troubleshooting, flagging potential blockers or scope misalignment before they become issues
  • Occasionally jumping in to client check-ins or status updates

You will need to have a commitment to the agroecological sector, and an ability to communicate well with a range of stakeholders while positively representing The Nest, and the values of agroecology. We are looking for someone passionate, highly organised and self-motivated, with an attention to detail.

You might be a good fit if:

  • You’ve managed projects in a creative or digital environment before
  • You have experience working with farmers, growers, or other comparable SMEs and are able to understand their capacity and specific needs
  • You’re confident with process tools and/or are able to develop and oversee effective processes for project management
  • You understand how creatives think and work — and can help keep them on track without stifling quality
  • You like working independently and flexibly, but enjoy being part of a team
  • You’re comfortable with occasional meetings or quick check-ins during the week

We are offering flexible working hours, with all work being fully remote. Some digital meetings with the team will be required, but we see this role as an opportunity for someone who needs to be flexible with their time, as communications will need to be spread over more than one individual week day.

Please note that this is a Freelance position, offering a an initial 3 month contract, with a view to extending beyond this phase

Application information

For this role, we are asking for video applications of no more than 5 minutes, so we feel we can ‘meet’ candidates. Please send this, along with your CV, LinkedIn profile or similar to info@thenest.earth. If you can, please share a few examples of projects you've helped steer successfully, or how you meet some of the above criteria.

We welcome applicants from all backgrounds and walks of life — what matters most is your approach and your ability to get things done kindly and clearly.

Application deadline: Wednesday 28th May 6pm
