Having successfully established ourselves within the community over the past 8 weeks, we are now embarking on an exciting phase of expansion.

About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Experienced Baker with a strong emphasis on artisan bread making to join our team and play a pivotal role in our growth towards becoming a leading social business within the Wrexham area. Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and oversee all aspects of bread and pastry production to ensure consistent high quality, with a particular focus on our artisan bread.
  • Develop and implement new bread recipes and refine existing bread-making techniques, as well as contributing to pastry development.
  • Maintain rigorous standards of quality and consistency in all baked goods, with an expert eye for bread characteristics.
  • Provide training, guidance, and mentorship to junior baking staff across both bread and pastry production.
  • Lead and facilitate community workshops and events focused on baking skills and knowledge, potentially with a specialisation in bread making.
  • Ensure strict adherence to all food safety and hygiene regulations.
  • Contribute actively to the overall growth, development, and strategic direction of the bakery.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Demonstrable experience as a Head Baker or in a similar senior baking role, with a significant focus on artisan bread production.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of artisan bread-making techniques and principles, including sourdough, long fermentation, and various shaping methods.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • A genuine passion for community engagement and social impact.
  • A commitment to the principles of social responsibility and ethical practices.

Working Hours:

  • Anticipated full-time hours: 40 per week.
  • Part-time opportunities are also available for the right candidate

Benefits:

  • Competitive salary commensurate with experience.
  • 28 days of annual leave, inclusive of bank holidays.
  • Company pension scheme.
  • Complimentary meals whilst on duty.
  • On-site free parking.
  • A significant opportunity to contribute to a meaningful social mission within the community.
  • The chance to be an integral part of a dynamic and expanding team.
  • A rewarding work environment within a beautiful and inspiring setting.
