Job description
The post holder will be working with a small group of students, delivering woodland-based qualifications, woodcraft & woodland management skills and other land & craft-based activities including green woodwork and primitive technology experiences throughout the seasons and be an active member of the Woodland Team. Willingness to work outdoors and feeling comfortable in all weathers, as well as working with hand-tools and having experience working with woodland machinery, including chainsaws (in-house training/guidance can be provided).
You must be able to instil enthusiasm and enjoyment into the learning process in such a way that can lead to increased self-esteem and enhanced engagement in learning.
Applicants for this post should have experience of working with young people and vulnerable adults with special needs, challenging behaviours and mental health difficulties and have a teaching qualification or a willingness to work towards this. An appreciation of Biodynamic principles is required, however, training will be provided, as the applicant will take part in the Ruskin Mill Trust Biodynamic Training Programme (2 years).
The post holder must hold, or be working towards, or prepared to work towards relevant teaching qualifications in accordance with government regulations.
