Job description

Sustain has an exciting opportunity for a new Public Affairs Manager to join us in making a significant impact on food and farming policy-making. Reporting to the Director of Policy and Advocacy, you will be responsible for planning and delivering our public affairs activity during a period of significant possibility for UK food system change.

With your experience of public affairs, networking and relationship building skills, along with excellent verbal and written communication skills, you will work with our campaigns and communications teams on strategic communications, narratives and framing that work with political audiences and help shape the policy debate to provide an enabling environment for positive decisions by power holders for a food system that benefits people and planet.

You will have excellent political and influencing instincts and a strong interest in policy development and the workings of Parliament and Government in order to identify the processes and moments to maximise political attention on the issues we work on, and to galvanise support for our asks and positive action on specific policy changes.
