Job description
The Centre for Alternative Technology in Mid-Wales is looking for a creative and innovative Plant-Based Sustainable Catering Manager.
Are you passionate about sustainable diets, committed to serving delicious plant-based foods, experienced in liaising with garden teams and developing relationships with local suppliers? Can you develop a delicious sustainable menu for our students and visitors – to inform and inspire? If so, we want to hear from you!
We are looking for a Catering Manager to take forward our mission to make the Centre for Alternative Technology a showcase for sustainable cooking and eating. You will lead our kitchen team to deliver delicious and sustainable meals to our students and visitors, making the most of our onsite gardens and developing relationships with local growers and food producers. Located in the beautiful mid-Wales countryside our site hosts students and a wide range of visiting groups, conferences and events.

Key responsibilities:
The Plant-Based Sustainable Catering Manager will oversee day-to-day catering operations, lead a dynamic team, ensure exceptional customer service, and manage sustainable practices throughout our catering operations. The ideal candidate will be as passionate about plant-based cuisine as they are about operational efficiency and environmental responsibility.
You will be working alongside the Director of Estates and Visitor Services to develop the operation of the kitchen and catering services, ensuring that they produce high quality products in an efficient and profitable way, whilst operating within CAT’s environmental and procurement policies.
The role combines a high level of chef duties, along with product development, financial and personnel management functions.
