At Leeds Veg Box, we’re passionate about making seasonal, organic, and locally-sourced food accessible to people across Leeds. We’re a growing, independent business with strong roots in sustainability, ethical and local farming.

Our small but dedicated team works hard to deliver top-quality veg boxes every week – and we’re looking for someone who shares our values to join us and to help grow the business to the next level. This role offers good flexibility and a nice varied working week, with some days working from home, some days working in person in our warehouse and some days driving in our van.

The Role

This is a hands-on and varied position where you’ll be involved in multiple areas of our day-to-day operations. The primary focus is packing our popular veg boxes (2 days per week), but you’ll also help with wholesale ordering, customer enquiries, social media marketing, email marketing and deliveries of our veg boxes (1 day every two weeks). A big part of the role will also be to help grow the business. We are looking for someone who can find and manage relationships with local growers and suppliers to ensure that we are bringing as much local season veg as possible to our customers.

You’ll rotate between working in our warehouse and from home depending on what’s needed, so flexibility and a can-do attitude are key!

Day-to-day tasks include:

• Packing fresh, seasonal produce for our veg box customers
• Checking produce for quality and freshness
• Planning and ordering veg for our boxes from our wholesaler and local farms
• Working efficiently to meet team targets (KPI’s)
• Keeping workspaces clean and organised
• Collecting veg from our main wholesaler and local farms
• Replying to customer enquires
• Managing our website
• Social media and marketing emails

About You

We’re looking for someone who:

• Cares about fresh, sustainable food (bonus points if you’re into organics!)
• Is reliable, positive, and enjoys working as part of a team
• Can also stay focused and motivated when working independently
• Is happy to be on their feet all day and lift boxes in a fast-paced setting
• Has a flexible approach and can switch between different roles when needed

Experience & Skills

Essential:

• Computer skills, e-commerce experience
• Full clean UK driving licence
• Good attention to detail – especially around quality control
• Customer service experience
• Comfortable with physical work and lifting

Desirable:

• Knowledge of fresh produce or organic food
• Experience in a packing, warehouse or production environment

Job Types: Part-time, Permanent

Pay: £12.60 per hour

Expected hours: 25 – 30 per week
