Job description

Key Responsibilities 

  • Oversee the busy daily activities and duties of the Centre and charity, providing efficient management and administration to  support effective day-to-day running of all operational matters.
  • Support the CEO and deputise as required.
  • Be adaptable and able to balance everyday operational demands with medium term planning and administration, informing the strategic direction of the charity.
  • Co-ordination and administration of all Tuppenny Barn events.
  • Undertake reception duties and diary management.
  • Data processing and inputting and management of records.
  • Maintain Tuppenny Barn website.

Activities and Duties

  • Provide day to day leadership & decision making for teh smooth operation of all activities. Deputise for CEO in executive decisions in theirn absence.
  • Co-ordination and facilities management including security, health and safety, risk management, cleaning and safety of the education centre
  • All aspects of private hire of the centre
  • Fundraising events with other members of staff
  • Liaision with all external contractors
  • key holder
  • Tasking Social Media Manager with relevant posts to market the cahrity and its activities
  • Day to day management of finances
  • HR administration
  • Coordinate with other managers and staff to ensure a team approach for continuity of business of all charitable activities and functions

About Tuppenny Barn Education

Tuppenny Barn is a 20 year charity based on a Soil Association organic smallholding. Food education via school and College visits, is its main charitable activity for approx 2000 young people annually. Horticulture therapy is its second charitable activity currently facilitating 6 green therapy programmes including one for young carers and another for vulnerable female veterans. We run a twice weekly produce shop weekly and hire out our sustainable education centre to the local community
