Job description

Food Action Plan Delivery Officer

Hours: 18.5

Temporary - 12 months

Are you a passionate advocate for sustainable food? Do you want to make a difference in your local community? We’re looking for a  Food Action Plan Delivery Officer to join our highly regarded Community Wellbeing Team and take the lead on pushing forward the actions in the our Food Acton Plan. This ambitious strategy addresses critical challenges including food poverty, food supply resilience, climate change, and public health and this new role will enable us to turn these goals into real, local impact. Some of your responsibilities include:

  • Coordinate and own the delivery of the West Oxfordshire Food Action Plan, especially the Council-led actions, working closely with internal teams including our Climate team.
  • Build and nurture strong networks across the local food system - including Good Food Oxfordshire, local schools, community food groups, local organsations, suppliers and growers.
  • Manage all administration, monitoring, and reporting of progress on the action plan.

This is a new role which will cover West Oxfordshire. Hybrid working is available - allowing the flexibility to spend some time working at home, some time working in the office and some time working out and about in the community.

Full details can be found here Food Action Plan Delivery Officer

You will need

  • Minimum NVQ Level 3 or A Level qualification and/or at least 3 years’ relevant experience.
  • GCSE Maths and English (Grade C/4 or higher) or equivalent.
  • Experience in food, sustainability, or community development sectors.
  • Proven project management skills, with experience delivering and evaluating projects and events.
  • Strong communication, relationship-building, and presentation skills

The district is rural and public transport can be challenging to reach all areas - so being able to drive and having access to a car would be essential.

If you would like to have an informal chat about the role and ask any questions in advance please get in touch:
