13 Acre Orchard is an Organic farm and retail business producing award-winning fresh juices, fruits, vegetables and mushrooms — sold direct to customers through our shop and markets.

We are now looking for a creative, people-focused Sales & Marketing Lead to drive shop sales, grow our local presence, and elevate our social media.

13 Acre Orchard is looking for a creative, people-focused Sales & Marketing Lead to help grow our farm shop. This is a hands-on role combining shop sales, social media content creation, and developing our local marketing strategy.

You’ll be working on the shop floor, engaging customers, filming and editing content for Instagram/TikTok, creating small marketing campaigns, and helping build a clear sales system for our business.

About the Role

This is a hands-on, hybrid role combining:

1. Daily shop sales & customer engagement

  • Warm, friendly, active shop-floor presence

  • Talking customers through our products, story, and process

  • Creating moments

  • Understanding what drives sales on the ground

  • Helping people to understand the goals of the farm & shop

2. Building our sales strategy

  • Developing a clear approach for greeting, engaging, and upselling

  • Identifying patterns in customer behaviour and foot traffic

  • building a pro-active sales approach to draw market shoppers into the shop

3. Social media content creation

  • Filming & editing Reels and short videos (phone content is fine)

  • Posting regular updates on Instagram, TikTok, Threads

  • Capturing orchard work, juice production, market life, new products

  • Building excitement and community

  • Responding to local customer messages and comments

4. Basic PR & outreach

  • Writing short press releases

  • Contacting local food journalists/bloggers

  • Building relationships with nearby shops & Borough Market traders

Who We’re Looking For

Someone who is:

  • Creative — loves filming, ideas, storytelling

  • A natural people person — friendly, warm, great with customers

  • Confident on the shop floor

  • Highly proactive — doesn’t wait for instructions

  • Organised — able to spot patterns and build systems

  • Ambitious — wants to grow into a leadership role

  • Comfortable starting from scratch

  • Excited by the idea of building a sales approach that others will follow

Experience in ANY of the following is helpful (but not essential):

  • Retail or hospitality customer-facing roles

  • Social media (Reels/TikTok editing)

  • Marketing or PR

  • Markets, food, farm shops, sustainability businesses

  • Startup or indie brand experience

Career Progression

Once initial shop systems are built and sales improve, the role evolves into:

  • Training new staff in sales approach

  • Leading the sales team

  • Overseeing marketing calendar

  • Potential full Sales & Marketing Manager role
