  • Most of all, you’ll share our belief that food can be a force for good — for people and planet.

Skills & Experience

  • 3 years of experience in a sustainability role, within food, catering, hospitality or a service-based business.
  • Strong understanding of sustainability in practice — including Net Zero pathways, circularity, and food systems.
  • Experience managing projects and influencing teams without direct authority.
  • Data-driven mindset, confident working with KPIs, tracking tools, and reporting frameworks.
  • Excellent communicator, both verbal and written, with a collaborative, hands-on and energetic approach.

Key Responsibilities

Strategy & Oversight

  • Oversee the implementation and ongoing development of Social Pantry’s sustainability roadmap.
  • Project-manage and report on accreditations, including ISO4001 and B-Corp
  • Set internal priorities, track milestones, and ensure clear accountability across departments.
  • Stay up to date with developments in sustainability regulations, frameworks, and opportunities.

Operational Integration

  • Embed sustainable practices across our kitchens, events, and workplace catering operations.
  • Work with the Executive Chef to prioritise local, seasonal, and ethically sourced ingredients.
  • Champion efforts to reduce food waste, packaging, and energy usage – engage team with practical solutions

Impact & Reporting

  • Collect, analyse and report on environmental and social impact data for annual Social Impact Report
  • Produce regular sustainability reports and updates for internal and external stakeholders and clients
  • Support responses to client tenders and pitches, highlighting our sustainability and social impact credentials.

Culture & Engagement

  • Deliver staff training and internal campaigns to engage teams in sustainable behaviours.
  • Act as a visible advocate for sustainability, inspiring action and accountability across the team.
  • Support the People Director in driving forward Social Pantry’s mission to work with prison leavers, ensuring our sustainability strategy aligns with and actively contributes to our broader social impact goals.

Communication & Collaboration

  • Coordinate with internal teams, especially the People Director, to ensure alignment between environmental goals and social responsibility objectives — particularly our work with prison leavers.
  • Support with internal communications to engage the business and drive compliance with initiatives
  • Support the People Director in developing and embedding initiatives that create inclusive opportunities for prison leavers within our workforce.
  • Work with the marketing team to communicate our sustainability and social impact efforts clearly and credibly.
  • Act as a visible advocate for sustainability and social justice, inspiring action and accountability across the team.
