We will support the successful applicant to develop their skills as a grower. We are committed to regular check-ins and to having open means of communication so we can work with our assistant grower to develop the job role to ensure it is as satisfying and rewarding as possible.

Farm Description: Tomnah'a Market Garden is a 5 acre agro-ecological market garden based at Comrie Croft - (eco-camping, wedding venue, cafe, farmshop, bike shop and trail centre) and is situated close to the old market town of Crieff and the beautiful village of Comrie. It is a stunning location surrounded by mountains, lochs and rivers with a wealth of outdoor activities on the doorstep.

The market garden was set up in 2015-2016 and we will be heading into our 11th full growing season in 2026. We grow a diverse range of vegetables, herbs, fruits and flowers using agro-ecological wildlife friendly growing techniques such as minimal tillage, interplanting, wildlife plantings, composting etc.

The vegetables are grown for our 140 member CSA (community supported agriculture) box scheme and for wholesale to local restaurants, caterers and retailers. We are delighted to be part of a thriving community of CSA members, volunteers and work closely with local businesses to collaborate with and support each other. Flowers are grown for event floristry (on and off site) and wholesale to florists. We also run and host workshops and events at the weekends throughout the season.

We often host a WWOOFer through the summer, as well as working with local volunteers.  We make an effort to cook delicious shared lunches for the whole team on work days so we can celebrate the fruits of our labour.

Who we are: Judith, Cristy and Sam are the working directors of Tomnah'a, all having been involved in the establishment of the business. With little commercial growing experience prior to setting up, we have grown the business to now employ up to 8 people during peak season. Catherine is a long-term employee who will be working alongside Sam to manage the veg side of the business in 2026. We work closely with the flower team (Cristy, Laura and Charli) to take care of the whole farm.

Our ethos is to produce high quality, fresh vegetables and flowers for the local community in a way that is kind to the soil, wildlife and to be part of building a better and more equitable food system. We are members of the Landworkers’ Alliance.

Essential traits/skills:

  • A minimum of one full season's experience in commercial vegetable production. Self motivated with an ability to work independently.
  • An interest in agroecological, small scale minimal-till horticulture
  • Willing to use machinery- quad bike, two-wheel tractor, strimmer.
