Job description

Support us to build a polytunnel at our community allotment!

We're building a polytunnel on our allotment to protect tender plants and create a shared space for learning and we need some helping hands to support the build! No prior experience needed, just enthusiasm and a few hours of your time.

Dates will be around the end of February/early March, though we will confirm once we have gathered some helping hands. This callout is simply to build a pool of volunteers who are happy to be contacted when we have dates sorted. Thank you for joining the team!

About Khepera CIC

Khepera means transformation — and our mission is to help members of the community improve their health and address issues affecting their wellbeing naturally. We are a small community company based in High Wycombe. We organise community gleaning days with schools and community members where we harvest surplus food from local farms and distribute this to food banks. As well as this, we collaborate with Empower to Cook CIC and have opened the Community Cooking & Wellbeing Kitchen.

Our goals include:

  • Increasing knowledge and awareness of healthy living
  • Empowering individuals and families to take control of their health
  • Supporting people to make positive life changes through food education and practical skills
  • Expanding the gleaning community to reduce food waste and increase access to fresh vegetables
  • Building a community around sustainability and healthy lifestyle
