We are independent and do not work with organisations or individuals that work with, or take funding from, the breastmilk substitute industry.

We are recruiting a nutritionist to increase our organisational capacity to deliver on our policy and practice work. Full time (35 hours a week), 1-year fixed term with probable extension, hybrid (London office), salary £40-45K PA.

  • Respond to queries from professionals and parents on nutrition and feeding in the early years and create and deliver training for professionals on the same.
  • Support our policy influencing work with a focus on strengthening the regulations on the marketing and composition of commercial baby and toddler foods, and the marketing of commercial milk formulas, and their enforcement.
  • Represent First Steps Nutrition Trust externally ensuring that early years nutrition and our policy asks are on others’ agendas and informing their advocacy.
  • Communications to publicise and disseminate our work and the relevant work of others.

Person specification

  • We are seeking a (registered) nutritionist (public health) or a (registered) dietitian with evidence of public health training. You must have a postgraduate qualification in public health nutrition or similar and a relevant undergraduate degree, and a minimum of 3 years’ professional work experience.
