Job description

Working either Saturdays or Sundays or both Saturdays and Sundays Emerson College is home to a vibrant learning community offering courses in Rudolf Steiner education, the arts, and practcal skills, supported by beautiful grounds and welcoming communal spaces. Our onsite café plays an important part in this environment by providing quality food, warm hospitality, and a friendly social hub for students, staff, and visitors. We are seeking a Café Assistant to help deliver excellent customer service and support the smooth running of the Emerson Café. You will prepare and serve food and drinks, maintain high standards of cleanliness, and contribute to a positive and welcoming atmosphere. Some evening and weekend work will be required in line with café needs.

In this role you will:

  •  Provide a warm and professional service to all café customers.
  •  Prepare and serve hot and cold beverages and simple food items.
  •  Maintain a clean, organised and hygienic café environment. 
  •  Support operational tasks including stock replenishment, cash handling and opening/closing duties.

We are looking for someone who:

  •  Has Barista Experience (Desirable)
  •  Has experience in hospitality or customer service.
  •  Works well in a team and communicates clearly.
  •  Stays organised and calm during busy periods.
  •  Shows reliability, flexibility and a positive proactive attitude.

 Can work evenings and weekends.
