Job: Assistant Veg Grower at Frensham Market Farm, East Hampshire GU10 2QJ

Dates: April - October 2026 (scope to stay on over the winter into the following season)

Wage: £12.71/hour PAYE including holiday pay, statutory sick pay and employer pension contributions

Hours: 28hrs/week can be split over 3 or 4 days

The Farm 

Frensham Market Farm is a 3.5 acre market garden in east Hampshire in between Farnham Haslemere and Bordon. We are a CSA farm growing mainly for veg boxes but we also do a bit of wholesale and a farmers market on the side. We currently have 85 CSA customers, looking to expand to 100 customers in 2026. The CSA runs February to December and we grow 90% of the veg that goes into the boxes, so a wide variety throughout the year. We also grow veg for a local food bank that we aim to deliver to every week. We have over 900m2 of covered growing space split between 4 polytunnels and a caterpillar tunnel. We grow on fixed beds currently without a tractor, but plan to have a compact tractor for the main 2026 season.  

The Job 

We are seeking a part-time Assistant Grower to join between April and the end of October with the potential to carry on over the winter and into the following season. You will be working in a small team of 2-4 depending on the day, but mainly alongside the head grower Tom.

As the Assistant Grower you will be involved in all aspects of vegetable production including propagation, sowing, planting, bed prep, crop care, weeding, harvesting and packing. You’ll also have the opportunity to get involved in the day to day running of the farm and have input on decision making such as crop planning and prioritising farm jobs. 

Skills/traits:

• Minimum 1 season experience growing veg, ideally on a commercial farm
• Ability to work in a team and self motivated to work independently 
• Full driving licence desirable 
• Good physical fitness for manual work
• Willingness to work outdoors in all weathers 
• Broader farm skills (use of machinery, maintenance, building) would be valuable but not essential
