Job description

Spring/Summer Volunteer Placement Vacancies – Sitopia Farm (2–4 weeks)

Location: Sitopia Farm, London

Dates: Flexible start dates from April to September 2026, with placements lasting 2 to 4 weeks. 3 days a week, Tuesday-Thursday.

About Sitopia Farm:

Sitopia Farm is a thriving organic, no-till vegetable and flower farm located on a beautiful two-acre site in SE London, on the wider 89 acres of the Woodlands Farm Trust. As a social enterprise, we are on a mission to improve the food system. We believe we can and should grow more food in the city, for a host of environmental, health and social reasons. Our produce is distributed locally through our vegetable bag and flower subscription scheme, monthly pop-up farm shop, farmers’ markets and wholesale channels. We also offer wedding flowers to local couples. We run a range of community engagement activities and other events, including weekly volunteering sessions, food and flower growing courses, school visits and team days.

About the Placement:

We're offering short-term spring and summer volunteer placements for individuals keen to get practical experience of small-scale, organic and regenerative farming. Whether you’re exploring a career in growing or simply want to understand food and farming better, you’ll get stuck into the daily work of a busy production-led farm. You’ll support our small team with:

- Sowing, planting, weeding and harvesting vegetables and flowers

- Clearing beds and prepping them for the next crop

- Preparing produce for our veg bags and flower orders

- Helping with watering, composting, and general site care

Farming is very physical and often muddy/ hot/wet work! You'll need to be comfortable working outdoors in all conditions – sun, rain, wind and everything in between.

You’ll Gain:

- Practical, hands-on experience on a working organic farm

- Skills in horticulture, vegetables and flowers

- A deeper understanding of sustainable food systems

- The chance to be part of a warm, values-led team

- Reimbursement of reasonable travel expenses

We’re Looking For:

  • People who are physically fit and willing and able to work outdoors in all weathers

  • A positive, can-do attitude and eagerness to learn by doing

  • Flexibility and adaptability- willing to undertake varied tasks according to shifting farm requirements

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

  • Availability for 2–4 weeks, for 3 days per week (Tues/Wed/Thurs)

  • Over 18s only

Please Note:

This is a voluntary, unpaid placement, designed for learning and experience. No accommodation is provided.
