Job description
Join us at an exciting moment for the Galloway Food Hub, as we aim to move to weekly sales, and grow our volunteer, customer and producer base.
All roles will have a practical and hands on element – helping make packing, sorting and delivering days run smoothly. Roles may at times be interchangeable and should be approached with a cooperative team ethos. All roles will be supported by an active and enthusiastic board of Directors, a Finance Manager and Marketing Coordinator.

Job Description
This role is 15hrs/week
This person should be hyper-organised, but equally a good communicator! A patient person with an eye for detail. A main ‘hands-on’ role on packing and delivery days.
Weekly management of the ‘back end’ of Open Food Network, including order cycles, extracting relevant packing lists and other spreadsheets
Coordinating local produce deliveries
Weekly organising of volunteer rota for packing and deliveries
Supporting volunteers to achieve personal goals and ensuring they have a high quality experience
First point of contact for dealing with order, collection or delivery errors/changes
A good level of I.T. literacy & experience with a range of platforms and IT systems; including OFN, Microsoft, and Google applications.

Person Specification
Essential
Highly organised, methodical and detail-oriented.
Experience managing administrative systems and processes.
Confident IT skills, including spreadsheets and digital platforms (e.g. OFN, Microsoft, Google Workspace or similar).
Experience coordinating rotas, schedules, or teams.
Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate clearly and patiently.
Experience providing customer service and resolving issues calmly.
Experience working with volunteers.
Ability to support and motivate volunteers in a positive and inclusive way.
Ability to manage confidential information appropriately.
Ability to undertake hands-on packing and delivery support.
Commitment to community-led food systems and climate-friendly enterprise.
Valid UK driving license
Desirable
Experience in community development or third sector organisations.
Knowledge of the local food and farming context in Dumfries & Galloway.
Understanding of safeguarding and inclusive practice.
Basic understanding of monitoring or data collection systems.
Access to own vehicle.
