Job description

Neal’s Yard Dairy is an independent business that has been selecting, maturing and selling British and Irish cheeses since 1979. We sell in our shops, to wholesale restaurants and shops, export cheese round the world and sell it online.

We are looking for a dynamic and practical Ecommerce Sales & Service Associate to join the team on a permanent, full-time basis, based at our Bermondsey site, starting April 2026

The successful applicant will bring valuable experience and expertise to the Ecommerce team to help grow our online sales, deliver exemplary customer service and ensure that customers’ cheese arrives with them in excellent condition.

The role

The Ecommerce Sales & Service Associate plays a key role in the smooth running and continued growth of our online shop.

Not everyone can make it to London to taste our cheese, have a chat with one of our cheesemongers and choose what they like best. Our goal in Ecommerce is to mirror the excellent retail experience we are known for in our shops. This means regularly tasting our cheeses so that we can communicate as honestly and accurately as possible with customers, while also managing the systems behind the scenes to ensure everything runs smoothly.

The core role is to:

  • Support the growth and day-to-day performance of our online shop
  • Deliver warm, knowledgeable, honest and responsive customer service
  • Ensure accurate order processing and smooth fulfilment
  • Monitor and track deliveries, maintaining strong relationships with courier partners
  • Manage the Ecommerce inbox and customer enquiries
  • Support stock management and product availability
  • Update and maintain website content
  • Analyse sales data to inform improvements and sales strategy

This is a varied, detail-driven role combining structured daily and weekly administrative tasks with the need to respond quickly and thoughtfully to customer and operational issues as they arise.

After the training period, there will be the opportunities to expand the role into areas such as:

  • Working with our in-house photographer
  • Website management and development
  • Content production (recipe development, copywriting, photography)
  • Hosting cheese tastings and events
  • Reviewing and upgrading systems.

About you

Our Ecommerce Manager would love to hear from applicants who are:

  • Highly organised, with strong attention to detail and excellent follow-through
  • Clear and confident communicators, both written and verbal
  • Comfortable managing multiple tasks and adapting to changing priorities. Our work requires the ability to jump between tasks
  • Proactive and self-reliant in identifying and resolving issues
  • Confident using IT systems and able to learn new processes quickly (experience with Shopify or Linnworks would be advantageous but full training will be provided)
  • Able to work collaboratively within a small team and contribute positively to its success
  • Able to work full time, Monday to Friday, on site
  • Experienced in online sales and website management (desirable)
  • Experience in the food industry is desirable, but a love of food is a must. Although we don’t expect you to be a cheese expert (yet!), you must enjoy eating cheese and be keen to learn more about it

For the Ecommerce team to understand and communicate the flavour and texture profiles of our cheeses accurately, there is a requirement to regularly taste our full range, including cheeses made with animal rennet. Please note that this role involves the occasional handling and selling of alcohol.

What we offer

Our successful candidate will receive:

  • An annual salary of £29,750+ depending on experience
  • Full on-the-job training
  • Free staff lunches every day
  • A steady supply of fresh bread and cheese as well as teas and coffee
  • A generous staff discount
  • Cycle to work scheme
  • Enhanced annual leave
  • Employee Assistance Programme

If this sounds like the role for you, we would very much like to hear from you. Please complete the application form by clicking on the link below, by end of day  Sunday 8th March 2026.

We will aim to schedule interviews on week commencing 16th March 2026.

We aim to contact successful candidates within 7 days of their application and reserve the right to close our vacancy earlier than advertised. All applications will require proof of eligibility to work in the UK. We are happy to discuss reasonable adjustments needed to support you in our recruitment process.
