Job description

Location: Regenerative farm-to-fork Cafe near Chipping Norton

Job Type: Part Time - Monday - Friday, 8am - 12pm (20 hours per week)

Start Date: Immediately

Remuneration: £13.50 an hour, statutory holiday (pro rata), share of tips, contributory pension scheme 

We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Kitchen Assistant to join our dynamic team on a regenerative farm near Chipping Norton. This is a unique opportunity to work in a beautiful rural setting, supporting our in-house chef in a busy catering kitchen that makes the most of seasonal produce straight from the farm.

Key Responsibilities:

● Washing and preparing freshly harvested vegetables to a high standard.

● Assisting the chef with general food prep duties as required.

● Operating and maintaining an industrial dishwasher.

● Ensuring the kitchen is kept clean, tidy, and hygienic at all times.

● Following food safety procedures and maintaining high standards of cleanliness.

● Occasional heavy lifting, such as moving crates of vegetables or kitchen equipment.

Requirements:

● Strong work ethic and a positive, can-do attitude.

● Physically fit and able to carry out manual tasks, including lifting.

● Good understanding of kitchen hygiene and food safety practices.

● Ability to work independently and as part of a small team.

● Have your own transport due to remote location (no public transport available).

● Must have the right to work in the UK.

Desirable:

● Previous experience in a professional catering kitchen.

● Interest in sustainable food systems or farm-to-fork cooking.

● Experience working in a rural or farm-based setting.
