Job description

Bremner & Co is a team of food systems specialists working with local and national governments, charities, NGOs, investors, academics, and the private sector to improve food policy and practice. We work the spectrum, from breastfeeding and food in educational settings to addressing food poverty, sustainability, reformulation, impact investment, and the acceleration of healthy food initiatives.

We are looking for an experienced Senior Policy Officer to join us on an immediate-start, 6-month contract to support our growing portfolio of client projects. The opportunity to apply for a permanent role will be available during the contract period.

What you'll do:

• Independently conduct qualitative interviews, literature reviews, and research reporting

• Support project planning, delivery, and progress monitoring across multiple client projects

• Analyse data and policy documents to produce evidence-based insights

• Liaise with internal teams, clients, and external stakeholders

• Contribute to proposals, briefs, and external communications

What we're looking for:

• 3–5 years' experience in a relevant role (food, public health or education policy, or related field)

• Demonstrable experience in policy research and/or development

• A strong track record in project- or client-based work within a fast-paced consultancy, agency or NGO environment

• Ability to independently plan and deliver interviews, literature reviews, and written outputs to a high standard

• Excellent communication, organisation, and stakeholder management skills

• Comfortable managing competing priorities and tight deadlines

• Right to work in the UK

• Able to work in London-based office 2 days per week
