Job description
GCFN’s ‘Our Shared Future’ project is about connecting communities in Glasgow who are making the food system kinder to people and planet, and more responsive to the needs of everyone who lives here. The project has a particular focus on increasing the resources and availability of culturally significant food in Glasgow. This is a four-year project funded by The National Lottery Climate Action Fund and starts mid-June 2026 so you’d be part of the development of this exciting new project.
Job Title 1: Fair Food for All Coordinator
Job Title 2: Community Food Coordinator
Salary: £19,503.12 per annum (pro rata). FTE: £32,505.20. Annual pay increases of 3% apply.
Hours: 21 hours per week, Part Time
Contract: Permanent
Work Pattern: Glasgow based (office with some hybrid working from home flexibility upon discussion)
Entitlements: Full-time entitlements include 28 days of annual leave and 10 days of public holidays. Entitlements will be pro rata for part-time employees
Location: Glasgow
Key Responsibilities and accountabilities will include:
Fair Food for All Coordinator
This role will be tasked with co-designing and delivering the aims and objectives of the Fair Food for All strand of the project, focused on bridging the gap between local community food practices and emergency food aid provision. The post will work closely with the Fair Food for All Project Lead and our partner organisation Glasgow Eco Trust on the following initiatives:
Working in collaboration with pantries, community kitchens, larders and foodbanks to embed locally grown food into their services, decreasing the reliance on supermarket surplus
Promote dignity in food aid provision through the incorporation of more culturally-significant food choices, ideally grown in and around Glasgow
Community Food Coordinator
This role will be tasked with co-designing and delivering the aims and objectives of the Community Food strand of the project, focused on increasing awareness, education and practical skills among Glaswegians relating to the connections between food, the climate and community cohesion. The post will work closely with the Community Food Leadand our partner organisation Central West Integration Network on the following initiatives:
Providing free workshops, events and peer exchanges relating to climate change, food growing and preparation skills, particularly between different cultural groups across Glasgow
Campaigning around the existence of multicultural food practices in Glasgow and the value they bring to the local food system
