Job description
We’re looking to hire a Catering Manager Chef on a 6 month Spring/Summer contract.
Start Date: Early May
£13.50 per hour
22.5 hours per week on average but possible paid overtime may be required.
Essential:
Food Hygiene Level 3 certificate.
Working in a kitchen for 2 years.
Experience lone working and managing your own time and hours.
Driving license.
Excellent communicator.
Excellent time management.

Job Description:
As kitchen catering manager chef you will oversee the catering side of MUD Kitchen business.
This will include managing emails, orders, administration, stock, ordering, food safety and hygiene paperwork.
You will work in the kitchen, either on your own or with other chefs and/ or volunteers to prepare food.
You will have the opportunity to develop bespoke menus for events and dinners based at the garden, focusing on the produce grown at the garden and from local organic suppliers.
You will need to be able to drive our electric delivery van or have access to you own vehicle to deliver catering jobs across Manchester.
You will ensure the kitchen is clean and safe and you have communicated with the relevant members of the wider team via a variety of platforms including Discord and Whatsapp.
You will work with the Head Grower to use and preserve any gluts and harvests from the garden.
You will keep to budgets and use spreadsheets to follow spending targets.
Hours will vary week to week depending on the work we have on, you will have set office hours each week and the rest of the week you will set yourself, ensuring timesheets are filled in.
You will be flexible and can take hours back across the month if there is less work required.
Additional work may include:
Running community cooking workshops
Making Community Lunch
Covering other MUD Kitchen staff holidays/sickness.

We’re looking for someone to join our small, friendly, hard working team who is passionate about our values, is hard working and confident managing a kitchen independently.
Our team are all on the same pay bracket, including directors, and we all work on our own areas of the business and help each other out when we can, it would be great if you can throw yourself into the team and are happy to work in this way.
We want to grow the area of the business, so we welcome entrepreneurship and someone who wants to develop the catering and product/preserves area of the business but who can also deliver a consistent high quality service.
