Job description

Grow Together Bucks is a small, successful community growing CIC in South Bucks.  We are looking for new Directors who are passionate about the importance of community food growing to help lead the organisation to the next stage of its development.

We are looking for voluntary, non-executive Directors of Grow Together to help us oversee, guide, plan and deliver sustainable growth and future impact of our community gardening programmes and work. You will help ensure that the organisation continues to deliver against its objects as outlined in our governing documents and that we maintain the appropriate governance structures, financial processes and policies to ensure our organisation delivers effective programmes of community growing and engagement with the local community and schools.

The organisation - Grow Together Bucks CIC – growing plants, people and places.

Based in High Wycombe, with a community allotment in Wycombe Marsh, Grow Together Bucks inspires people to grow their own food, helping them connect with nature and each other through growing. We work with the community, schools and local organisations to improve community growing programmes and to support people to grow using organic, no-dig techniques which are beneficial to the environment, people and the soil.

We recognise the need for community growing in High Wycombe and the surrounding area where there is a strong need for reconnecting urban populations with their natural food environment.

We have a dedicated group of around 20-30 volunteers that attend our community allotment sessions. They helped us grow around 500kg of food on the community allotment last year and it’s crucial that we continue to maintain the allotment and work with and support this loyal group of people as well as delivering and reporting on our current commitments which includes work with schools, local organisations and funding partners.

Legal

  • Ensure we comply with our legal obligations as a CIC
  • Ensure our activities uphold our objectives as identified in our governing documents
