Kindling Trust
Stockport, Manchester
Posted: 8 May 2026
Deadline: 31 May 2026
Compensation: £26,230 per annum
Paid Full-time Fixed term / contract
Job description
The Kindling Trust are seeking a highly motivated and organised individual, with experience of project development and management, to help us refresh our much loved Hub of Sustainable Food and Farming and help return it to the thriving community asset it once was.
After a couple of years with little funding, with your help we are about to enter a new exciting phase for the site. When our community funding came to an end 3 years ago, we sadly had to scale back our much needed activities. Our amazing Market Gardeners, Veg Box scheme and Community Gardeners kept the Kindling sustainable food torch burning throughout that time, but we always wanted it to be so much more and knew it could be.
So we are now very happy to announce that we have secured funding for this post to start building a whole new engagement programme at our urban organic food growing site in the heart of Stockport.
We are looking for someone who is both practical and has community engagement experience to help us deliver our ambitious plans over the next 3 years. Someone who will work with us to plan, co-ordinate and run activities to engage more people with sustainable food; and crucially someone who is happy to roll their sleeves up and carry out practical improvements to the site.

About Kindling Trust
Since 2007, we’ve been working with communities, farmers, health providers, activists and policymakers to challenge and subvert the industrial food system, a system which fuels the crises of climate change, biodiversity loss, and economic inequity. Based in the north west of England, we have a 78-acre organic agroforestry farm, an organic vegetable box scheme and support a number of food and farming projects.
